From my Overheard Files:
Excellent Teacher (cracking under testing pressure): Joey, you're taking the test again.
Delaware Student: I've taken it three times!
Teacher: You missed it by two points. You're taking the test again. First thing tomorrow morning.
Student: Ahhhh, man.
Thank you, Governor, for subjecting Joey to your testing madness!

Delaware needs an opt out choice so that kids aren't guinea pigs for data! Yes, kids need to learn to hold a standard... but we are overtesting. This will get much worse with Smarter Balanced as kids are not ready for the higher level depth of knowledge AND many of the standards/skills that were not part of DCAS/Delaware Standards. Suddenly, students will just acquire these skills without concern for transition. Subjecting kids to tests of new skills and standards without time to acquire is abusive.
