Not to be all technical on you, but Semisonic sang Closing Time, released in 1998. While it would be awesome to hear a Green Day cover of this song, they were not the artist on this song. Respectfully, the Exceptional Music Guru! LOL!
Dear Guru, Closing Time was first released by Semisonic; however, Green Day covers it live although they have never recorded the song - hence the video featuring just the lyrics. There are other youtube vids that feature Green Day pics while its sung. But, you will never find it on an album. So, sit back, hit play, and enjoy this awesome Green Day cover with a h/t to Semisonic.
