At last night's CSD Board meeting, Senator Bryan Townsend announced that he is planning to take the DCAS! Sen. Townsend has been working on details with DOE for some time. But, it looks like his efforts to share the experience of our state's students in high stakes testing is nearing reality!
Thank You, Senator!

Nothing more than pomp from another teacher hater. Will he show his scores and demand his colleagues do the same?
Does he even trust the scores?
Wow!
So, I asked the Sen. thoes same questions in a much nicer way. As of our conversation this morning, the process to set-up the taking of the test has been on-going as he works with DOE. Yeah, I know, Anonymous, you're a DOE hater just like me. But, he's been steadfast. The plan he had envisioned was once he finally got through all the red tape - my words, not his - he would discuss his plans with other legislators to see if there exists an interest. He did disclose that he had not determined if he would share his scores. In fact, he was still determining which grade level test to try. I suggested 10th and that is the direction that he is already leaning.
I don't think he's a teacher-hater as much as I think he's only been in Dover for a year. Once DOE burns him, as they eventually do anyone who wants to fight to improve public education - really improve, not shill for business interest - he'll see the light. But, that's just the C&E1st opinion.
Then there should be ZERO debate: scores should be released, no?
Anything else, just a press op.
He will take the test and he will publish his scores, as have I.
kavips, I'll bet you a beer he doesn't and get no legislators on board with doing it, either.
