I was looking at similar reporting yesterday in trying to articulate why some of us here in Delaware are wary of the RTTT money.

She is down in Charlotte, NC now and I didn't have the time or energy to pull together for her all of the concerns that the bloggers and greater community have brought to bear surrounding RTTT funding. She also took exception to my wariness about Mass Insight saying it was reputable and funded by Gates, afterall.

Where do you start?

Well, I still haven't answered her. I doubt that if I just sent her links to all of the great blogs in Delaware that she'd spend the time to research answers for herself.

But I was googling around hoping to land on something from NC and RTTT and approaches to minorities, socioeconomics and low-performing schools around Charlotte. I came across some information about finding diversity in putting different socioeconomic groups together- not aiming for racial groupings.

From your article here, Elizabeth, I am going to zip over and google the San Francisco plans.

Delaware is so small you would think that since we might as well admit that our districts aren't exactly modeling 'Neighborhood Schools', we could really do something with a grid-planning for choice, transportation and fitting kids and parents with the best schools for their needs.
