How convenient to go into executive session before allowing public comment- this means that anyone that wants to speak will have to wait around forever to speak!

Should we be surprised?

Kathy, It certainly sends a message to those who might have something to share during public comment... However, if the public is impassioned, then they should plan for a late night. Simply b/c one thinks the board does not value their contribution, does not mean it is so. Sometimes, they do listen and act. We must give this group the opportunity first before we condemn them all. I consider it a good sign the notice was up early and it gives readers a solid idea of what business will be conducted. That's a major first step!

It does not, however, state that there will be a vote on Ms. Lewis's contract. I know this has been very important to many community members. As the AG has come down school districts who make major changes to agendas the night of the meeting for matters that are not new business and urgent, it seems unlikely that Pencader will risk another FOIA and add that contract to their agenda the night of... As usual, it is wait and see...

Question - is AL getting paid right now?? If she has no contract...

Jodi. I don't know, but I would guess that she is getting paid...

Me too. I sure hope this isn't a "if we do nothing for awhile, the public will forget about it" stall tactic.

i believe she is being paid per diem. Looks like that is exactly the tactic....sadly.
