Pencader Updates Website - What happened to the rest of the board?

Pencader posted some updates to the school website today.  For those who have wondered who their board members are and how to contact them, the 2011-12 board members whose terms have expired were taken off the board page.  The lingering question is:  What about all the new board members?  Why were they not added?

The Board's responsibility in oversight and hiring and firing of school leader MANDATES that that leader not be a member of the Board, Ad Hoc or otherwise.

The By-Laws revision should clarify this.

The governing body should not be mixed with the operations for which they bear ultimate responsibility.

Actually, since none of the "members" who were "elected" to the board July 2 are on this list probably Steve Quimby shouldn't be either. His term expired June 30, and if he wanted another term he had to also be elected on at the July Annual meeting. He can't just declare himself to stay on.

Also, why in the world would an Annual Meeting be in April? The fiscal year is july 1-June 30. The annual meeting sums up the year. Or is Pencader working on a different calendar than we in the Western World? Oh my.....

Also, to follow up on what Nancy said in her comment: aren't Ann and Amanda employees of the Board? They can't be on the Board that oversees their employment.....

I am told that ad hoc members are not voting members. In the districts, state law makes the superintendent the official board secretary, although in practice the board's secretary is the secretary designee for the purpose of taking and producing minutes for later approval. I have been presuming that ad hoc itself stems from corporation law??? as charters are corporations and districts are not. Maybe we can find a corporation expert to comment here...

Maybe that "shipment" from June 28 came in the mail today?? Or she just likes the sound of it?' Or she doesn't care what you, me, or the rest of the planet thinks because she wants to be a doctor? I dunno.....Can we all be what we want?

Now, Kathy, she bought that degree fair and square!

Okay, going with the benefit of the doubt here -There are a number of areas on the website that have not been updated. The CBOC meeting minutes, members, and reports are absent or outdated. Board Meeting minutes are not accurate. The school directory still lists last year's staff. I'll chalk it up to an slight oversight. But, you don't have to...

ROFL, Elizabeth.

I want to buy a legal degree! I want the power to fight crooks like this, and stand up for all the kids.

If she can do it, why can't I? LOL

In all seriousness, wouldn't most rationale people make sure that got cleaned up (taken off the web site)? One would think that the embarrassment would be so great that you wouldn't want to spark anyone's memory of your fraud!

It's Socratic, I know, the answer is really another question: Would a truly rational person behave deceptively?

Elizabeth, apparently MS. Lewis reads your blog. Her son changed the Dr to MS. in just 3 three short days! :)

I guess that says a lot about the status of her transcripts for her Phd. I bet they wanted way too much money for those "documents"
