Some Pencader Questions Answered in Minute of Public Meeting

I'm just getting around to court reporter's record of the public meetings held last week regarding Pencader Charter School.  There are some interesting snippets of information worth sharing:

Board member, Dan Young, addressed the both the issue of changing the school name and recruitment efforts in his public address, https://eboard.eboardsolutions.com/Meetings/Attachment.aspx?S=190001&AID=4967&MID=287

We've heard all of the commentary
11 from different community groups about the name
12 Pencader, what it now means to a number of
13 people. We want to maintain Titans, because we
14 truly believe in that moniker, and we also want
15 to maintain the colors. But this community,
16 this Pencader family, is prepared to humble
17 itself in such a way to keep the family
18 together.
19 We have done some cost analysis
20 about what that will take to do. We're prepared
21 to start to curtail our monthly spending in paid
22 advertising to pay for those changes.
23 Whatever's necessary to keep this family
24 together, we're prepared to do that.

1 Also, we have had conversations
2 with Charter School of Wilmington, with members
3 of Delaware Military Academy, members of
4 Prestige Academy and Newark Charter School, to
5 begin to -- to galvanize our student
6 recruitment. All these different schools, they
7 do not use a great deal of paid advertising.
8 They just make sure that they get out there to
9 the middle schools and high schools in the area,
10 to community events, and talk about what their
11 school's about. And this school is about
12 business and finance.
18 Besides the work that we're going
19 to do with the Charter School of Wilmington,
20 besides simply getting out in the community and
21 recruiting effectively, we are going to make
22 some inroads into the community to start to
23 bring other people into the school.
24 For example as a Wilmington

1 University professor, I've also secured
2 commitments from the College of Business to make
3 sure that we have programming in the school. A
4 number of members of the College of Business, in
5 the master's program, the doctoral program, have
6 children of school age that would go to
7 Pencader, and that is another opportunity.
1 We're cleaning up messes that were made by
2 people who are not sitting here today, who are
3 not supporting these parents, who live in a
4 blogosphere where they can talk about other
5 people without having to be present and be
6 accountable for what they said.
7 Do not penalize these children for
8 people who are not standing here today.

translation: bloggers are scum, not taxpayers, not parents, and have no right to opinions in a pencader version of democracy, what an ass Dan is.

I can't decide which Broadway song best describes Pencader's Hail Mary: "Promises, Promises" or "The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow".

Hey, Scum, (I don't know the Old English word for that...can't find my copy of Beowulf tonight....),
I missed something here....what's Dawson's comment about Christiana?
Also, I can remind Dr. Young that as soon as I heard he had joined the board I tried to contact him thru his wife who used to be a teaching colleague of mine, to turn over some files I have but he never responded to me.
I would like to state that I have never met a single person who posts on the blogs about DE education who would not stand up for the comments they write. Never. I am always accountable for every comment I make, Dr. Young. Always. Do not paint with a wide brush all who walked before you who worked as hard as you are to build Pencader. Many of us gave countless hours and dollars to this school. But clearly you are not interested in our input.
Signed,
More Scum
